Research & Development

Each product differs in size, weight, rotating speed, performance, load and environment within the assembly. TRIS R&D centre, localized in Japan, develops products with the most suitable characteristics for the particular conditions of each motor. All of TRIS products are made-to-order. Our skills, as a specialist for raw materials and specially-developed production system, enable us to develop high quality products.

Product design

Lead-free brushes have been needed to reduce the environmental exposure. Our extensive expertise in material research gives a brush high performance as well as durability without lead.

Two layers enable the brush to have good balance between, high output power and durability. The high resistance layer reduces electrical abrasion and achieves a long life without power reduction.


Improving quality of the products and decreasing manufacturing cost are the main requests in the automotive industry. Therefore we put a lot of our effort into process investigation and make large investments in new machine development.

Tribiology Technology

Tribology is the science and technology of interacting surfaces in relative motion. It includes the study and application of the principles of friction, lubrication and wear. The word "tribology" derives from the Greek τρίβω ("tribo") meaning "(Ι) rub" (root τριβ-), and λόγος ("logos") meaning 'principle or logic'. Any product where one material slides or rubs over another is affected by complex tribological interactions, whether lubricated, or unlubricated as, in high temperature sliding wear in which conventional lubricants cannot be used.

Tribology plays an important role in manufacturing. In metal-forming operations, friction increases tool wear and the power required to work a component. This results in increased costs due to more frequent tool replacement, loss of tolerance as tool dimensions shift, and greater forces are required to shape a component. A layer of lubricant which eliminates surface contact virtually eliminates tool wear and decreases needed power by one third!

Powder Metallurgy

It is necessary to increase the density of powder metallurgy to improve the mechanical characteristics. Heating the molding powder will increase the density with the same pressure as cold pressing. Special lubricating ingredients found in graphite are contained also. Sintered bearings have durability to endure both low speed rotation without oil impregnation and high speed rotation with oil impregnation. We also have developed lead-free sintered oil less bearings.
